Lucky Print {turned Canvas}

The adorable Aly from Entirely Eventful put together a fun challenge for a few of us bloggers. We each got this super awesome printable that she designed and were challenged to create something with it or inspired by it. I knew what I wanted to do right away. I have been wanting to use this awesome cream that I have had forever called texture cream {from the Wood connection}. I have used it for antiquing wood projects but have never used it for its sole purpose of creating a canvas look on pictures. This was the perfect print for just that. And it was so easy. Why have I not done this before?

{Supplies I used}

-The Free Print from Entirely Eventful {I printed it off at Costco Lustre style}
-Piece of scrap MDF board {I had hubby cut to a 8X10}
-White paint and sponge brush
-Mod Podge
-Texture Cream
-Sponge Roller

{What I did}

-First I printed off the printable at Costco as an 8X10 and make sure you pick the Lustre option you do NOT want glossy for this project
-Then I had some scrap MDF board out in the garage so I had Ty cut it for me into a 8X10 to fit my print
-Next I painted the sides of the wood white so it looked like a canvas {I also painted the back because I am a freak and hate when things look unfinished even the back of things that no one sees, I know what the heck? So you really just need to paint the sides of the board}

-Cover the board with mod podge

-Place your print on top of the mod podge, smooth it out to make sure there is no bubbles, put it face down and let it dry for about an hour

-Once it is dry you are going to take a blob of the texture cream and put it right in the middle of the print

-Take your foam roller and spread it evenly throughout the picture

-And it is just that easy. Just let it dry and it will dry completely clear and give you the texture to look just like a canvas.

-You can do this to any print or picture that you want to look like a canvas. It is so easy and fast why not?!

-For the St. Patrick's season I took out another plaque I had on my gallery wall and put this beaut in its place secured this some 3M picture hanging command strips {My favorite}

Make sure to go and snag your Free Lucky Print. What will you make with it? I would love to see what you make into a canvas using this technique you can email your pictures to wjwiki07@hotmail.com
