Spray Painted Earrings Tutorial

I am going to the oh so fun Breathing Space Bloggers Retreat
at DayBreak This weekend!
Can I just tell you how EXCITED and a little nervous I am
This is my first ever blogging overnight retreat
I am so excited to meet all the wonderful bloggers
I am excited to hang out with my mom (Leanne from Organize and Decorate Everything)
I am excited to learn and go to all sorts of fun classes 
and most of all I am excited to HAVE A BLAST
I am nervous because like I said this is my first one
I am a small blog and I hope I am social enough 
and that I make some friends :)

with a fun earring tutorial 
so enjoy and try it out for yourself 

I was at a Fancy Shmancy Boutique and saw some 

super cute detailed, colorful earrings

But the problem was they were way more than I was willing 

to spend I was a little sad
I thought I could totally make those but didn't know
where to get the earrings 

Then my beautiful mom told me about the amazing company

Pick Your Plum

If you have not heard of this company go check them out

You will be hooked its like a craft item/fashion item deal a day

and they are amazing 

Anyway I signed up right away and a few weeks later
they had some bronze beautifully detailed earrings on their site
They came in a two pack (oval and long) for only $4 
That is only $2 a pair
Awesome right

Materials you will need:

-Earrings (watch for them on pick your plum)

-spray paint (whatever color you chose)

- sand paper

This is how the earrings started out looking like

And those were the two pairs in the pack for $4

What I did:

1. Buy your earrings or find some you already have that 

you want to add some color to

2. Pick your spray paint color

3. Grab a tarp or drop cloth and spray paint your earrings 

I did two coats on the front 

and one coat on the back

Make sure to let them fully dry before painting another coat

4. Once all coats are dry grab some sand paper and sand them down a little

I thought they needed a little roughing up 

and this brought out the detail in the earring

5. attach your hoops to them (they came in the pack)

and they are all ready to wear

Then viola! 

you have your boutique style and quality earrings 

for so so much cheaper

I made 6 pairs for only $12 (I already had the paint)

That is the same price or cheaper for only 1 pair I saw at the booths and boutiques

Six for the price of one? Yes thank you :)

Now that is thrifty :) and no one will even know 

LOOK at those fun colors

Don't you just love how they turned out?!

And of course I HAD to make a YELLOW pair

I just got these finished 

have ran a few errands the past few days while

wearing these and have had so many 

compliments on them and people asking me where I got them

Because they just NEEDED a pair of their own

I Love when that happens

They add just the right pop of color 

and are perfect for Spring/summer
