{Day 2}
New here? Make sure to check out day 1 and my introduction to my
31 day of Health and Exercise series for the month of October
Thank you for reading and coming along with journey with me
I hope to inspire and motivate you through this series
Today I am going to be talking about your options when it comes to exercise
There are so many choices of where and how to exercise
the possibilities are almost endless
I am just going to give you a few of my favorite
ways and places to exercise
{#1}- Gym Membership
First up and probably the most obvious and popular is to join a gym
Gyms for sure have their advantages
-They have all the equipment you need
-You are around other people that can help motivate you
-You can get away and you can either work out on your own or with a partner
-You can watch TV while you exercise
-You can work out in all different types of weather
-They have good hours
-Some gyms have daycare
-You can get good deals- Planet Fitness (my gym) is only $10 a month
-Personal trainers are available
-Gyms have a sense of structure-You go to the gym to workout
-There are classes available
{#2} Take a class
If the weight area in the gym is not your thing
join a class
-Classes provide a support
-They are very motivating
-You can do it with a friend
-There are all different levels of classes
-There are many types of classes
-There is a professional in charge to help you
My favorite type of class to take is Zumba
I am not very good at it because I haven't done it very much
but it is so much fun
Dancing for Exercise is a BLAST!
{#3}- You can workout at Home
There are many different exercises
including circuit training, DVDs, aerobics,
running (if you have a treadmill), abs, pushups,
WII fit, jumping jacks that you can do in the comfort of your own home
If you are too busy to get to the gym,
if you can only find the time to work out when the littles are napping
or you just don't have the money to take classes or join a gym
you can always just workout in your home
however, whenever and for however long you want
Later on in the series I will be sharing with you some of my at home workout ideas
{#4}- DVDs
There are many DVD workout options out there
Some of my favorite include the Insanity workout set,
Jillian Michaels' workouts, and the Biggest Loser DVDs
These are nice because again you can do them whenever
you have time in your own home
you can also do then with a partner of friend wherever a TV is available
The other nice thing about the workout DVDs is you don't even have
to spend any money to do some of them
Who doesn't like FREE right
Did you know that your local community library has
workout DVDs that you can check out?
Well they do and it is awesome
Cuz you can try out all different ones to keep
your workouts upbeat and exciting
Go check out your library you will not be sorry
{#5}- Running/Walking
Running is another excellent and free way to get your sweat on
I know a lot of you are thinking but I HATE running
Well I say to you get over it
haha Just kidding
but no really make me a promise that you will just try one more time
For me, go out and take a run
There are so many benefits to running
First of all it is so refreshing and it is the best mind clearing exercise out there
You need the cardio and your heart will thank you later I promise
Run outside, run on a track, on a trail,
run on a treadmill in your home, or in a gym
You can pretty much run any where
It is so convenient I'm tellin ya
Start small and work your way up
you will not be sorry you did
{#6}- Go Outside
Take your workout outside
Go to the park, run on a trail, run the track,
go to a playground, go to the high school football stadium and
use the bleachers, go to the beach, or go to the pool if the weather permits it
This is the perfect time of year to get in some exercise outside
the weather is beautiful and your kids will
love to play while you get in a little workout at the playground
Multi-tasking people! It is a beautiful thing
{#7}- Find a Buddy
If you need a little extra motivation or just want to
spend some extra time with your significant other, or best friend
get a buddy to workout with
You can motivate each other, keep each other going
hold each other accountable, cheer each other on,
be each others support, and just have fun together
{#8}- Your Time
Working out alone is also very affective
sometimes we just need our alone time
We need this time to put in our head phones, blast some good tunes
and clear our mind
Working out alone is also a good way to get our frustrations
If you are a stay at home mom and need just a little time to
yourself working out is the best way to do so
It is so good for your body, your mind and gives
you extra energy to go home and play with your kiddos afterwards
A combination of working out with a buddy and alone is the best
Because, at least speaking for myself, I need some alone time
but also need to be social
Moderation is key with how, where, what, and who with you
do your workouts
Do you see all the options you have?
So no Excuses right?! Right!
You have no excuses you can exercise just about
anywhere and whenever you can squeeze it into your day
Just get a little creative and you are on your way
to a healthier you!

What a great post! Thanks for sharing some awesome workout ideas. Last year I decided to do Beachbody's Px90 workout, I started doing it on my own and convinced my sister to do it along with me. It really does make such a difference when you have a workout partner! It makes it so much easier, and a lot more fun too! We had a blast doing px90 and we saw awesome results too! :)
ReplyDeleteI love Zumba, I go to 24 hour fitness because it's close but it's 25 a month and only a few minutes away so not bad. Love you fitness series, thanks for sharing.
