{Day 26}
New here? Make sure to check out day 1 and my introduction to my
31 day of Health and Exercise series for the month of October
Thank you for reading and coming along with journey with me
I hope to inspire and motivate you through this series
Today I am going to talk about working out alone vs
with a partner
There are many benefits to working out with a partner
#1. Motivation
If you know there is someone at the gym waiting for you,
you will be a
lot less likely to skip a workout because you don’t want to let them
down
Your partner helps you to keep going, to do your best and to help you
#2. Social Life
Sometimes it is just nice to have someone to talk to while you workout
You can catch up with a friend or your spouse while you are
also getting in a good workout
#3. Safety
Partners can help you stay safe and injury free by spotting you
while doing resistance training and weight lifting
they can also help you to stay safe while running outside
by looking out for you and you are less likely to be attacked
when you are not alone
Although there are some great benefits to working
out with a partner there can also be some down falls such as
#1. Waste Time
Sometimes when you are working out with someone
they are more of a distraction and just want to visit rather
they are more of a distraction and just want to visit rather
than working out and it is harder to stay focused
#2. Can drag you down
If they are not at your level and don't have the same goals
as you they can drag you down and be more of a hinder to you
workout then helpful
#3. Unreliable
Sometimes they can be unreliable
and may flake out on you and ruin your workout plans
So if the downfalls out weight the benefits of working out with a partner
maybe working out a lone is for you
Working out alone can also be beneficial
#1. You can go whenever your schedule allows it
you don't have to schedule a time that works for both of you
you can just go and workout whenever works for you
no scheduling conflicts, and not accountable for anyone elses time
#2. You don't feel intimidated
If you are just starting out or you just aren't at the same level
as your partner it can be intimidating and uncomfortable
working out alone gets rid of this and you can just work out
as hard as you can without feeling down for not being as good as someone else
#3. You time
I don't know about you but sometimes
I just need me some ME time
away from everyone
Just me, my thoughts and my workout
So what do you prefer?
is there a right answer to alone vs partner?
I dont think there is a right answer there is benefits to both and down falls to both
so I have come to the conclusion that it is a personal decision
Which way pushes you to do your best?
You decide what way is better for you and what way you workout better
You don't have to pick just one
I like working out on my own sometimes and working out with a partner other times
So both are for me and that is ok!
