4th of July Wreath

Its that time of Year despite what Utah Weather says
it is almost the 4th of July
Do you all love the 4th as much as I do?

I love the BBQs. the warmth, the sun, the fireworks
the parades, the parties, the carnivals
I love it all!

So of course I needed something for my door
to celebrate this All American Holiday
Gotta show my love for our country

So I made a easy and fun red, white and blue wreath!
And this was my inspiration
I just needed to make it more my own
so....

This is what you will need:

-A wreath Form (I used 2 because I wanted it to be thicker) $1 each at the dollar store
-Yarn color of your choice
-Cupcake liners of your choice (I got red, white and blue ones in different sizes at Michael's)
-Stars or other embellishments (Michael's)
-Hot glue Gun
-Hot Glue
-And something heavy to flatten out the cupcake liners

Here is what I did:

First I got all the cupcake liners ready
by layering, gluing and embellishing

I ended up making about 60 completed and layers circle
so probably around 90 or so cupcake liners

Then it was time to flatten them out a bit
This is where my husbands Law School books came in handy
for my crafting
(hubby rolling his eyes)
haha JK he thought it was pretty funny and creative

Law Books are so humongous and heavy I knew they would do the trick
So I put them in there every few pages
shut the books
and let them sit over night and the next day voila they were flat!

While those were flattening it was time to start wrapping
Grab your yarn, your wreath forms,
a good show to watch and start wrapping

Now I'm not gonna lie this wrapping part seems like it takes forever
and it kinda does
so just make sure to do it while you are watching a movie
or like me while I am watching some SYTYCD
Who else out there loves this show?
Isn't it so much fun
Who are your favorites?

Once you are done wrapping your wreath
and all your cupcake liners are flat, embellished and ready
It is time to start gluing them to your wreath

This part has no rhyme or reason
I just wanted them to be random
That looks the best on wreaths like this I think

Just layer, over lap, and glue glue glue
Be creative
Use your imagination and make it your own

Doesn't it look pretty on my DOOR
I love it!

I don't have a front door that many people see
Cuz we have a basement entrance in the back of the house
But it is so cute anyway and for those of you who see our door
I hope you love it!

Remember make it fun, use your creativity
and if you have any questions I am happy to answer all of them
So just email me or leave a comment!

  3. Very cute! I have a valentine's wreath still hanging up because I have nothing to put in it's place so I'll have to take some of this and tweak it a bit to turn it into a July 4th one. I'll try to get it up on my blog soon! Thanks for the inspiration!

  5. This is really similar to a wreath I made for the 4th. I used fabric instead of cupcake liners, but I have to say - cupcake liners = genius! I am visiting from Strictly Homemade. Come visit my link and check out my wreath!
