Quick, Easy and Small Fall to Winter Fashion Trends

Let's talk a little fashion today shall we. To find my top 6 fall fashion trends go HERE. My post on how to make your own headwrap got me thinking about other fall fashion trends that are on a smaller scale. So today I am going to talk fall fashion on our lips, nails, and accessories. These are easy, quick and inexpensive but still make a big statement. And the best part is they will all transition from fall right into the holiday season. So lets get started on my top 5 small trends that leave you feeling stylish and create a big statement.

Dark Nails

First up are the dark nails. Black is back, but not just black so don't be intimidated. If black is scary for you or just not your thing you can use the dark purples, reds and blues and it will bring in that same look. Dark is no longer a Gothic style but turning into pure glam. Good bye summer neons, hello glamorous darks {at least for a couples months}.

Also to go along with the dark nail colors, GOLD is a must this fall and into the holiday season. Try it out. Get a dark color and paint those fingers and tootsies, with maybe one of them gold, and you are sure to be in love.

Dark Lips

Next up are the dark lips. Burgundy is huge this season and really fun to play with, with your fall outfits. It can be so pretty paired with a light flowy top. Make it feminine and keep it classy.

If the purple is too much for you, try out the darker red. Bright red was perfect for the summer, but it is time to switch it out for the darker shades of those classic red lips.

I tried out a color in between the really dark purple and the red and I am loving it. It is a little darker in person then what the lighting of this picture shows, but it was just a really fun change and it feels very dressed up. It is crazy how just putting on some lipstick can make you look so much more put together.

Headwraps and Beanies

Now for some fun head accessories for fall into the winter are the headwraps, cozy earwarmers and beanies. I love these accessories because they are both functional and fashionable. The two main functions each of these serve is to keep our heads cozy warm, and they are super quick and great for a lazy hair day.

You can find my headwrap tutorial from last month's post HERE

For a different look you can buy are make the cute fleece or crochet earwarmers. Pretty much these are just a thicker headwrap that are great for those snowy days. You can find the tutorial to make the fleece ones HERE.

I feel like beanies are so much cuter than they used to be, and a huge part of fall/winter fashion. I am finding myself styling the rest of my outfits around these beanies. They are not just for guys or for skiing anymore. Wear them looser fitting and with a fun curl or with some straight bangs. The Most perfect lazy hair day accessory ever. In the summer I love the top knot bun and in the winter I love the beanies and headwraps. Function and beauty it is possible!

Statement Necklace

Statement necklaces are huge. They have been a popular trend for a while and they are not going anywhere anytime soon. These unique, colorful, and classic statement necklaces are for everyone. They have so many shapes, sizes, colors and options and they can go with just about anything. You do not have to wear a dress to pull these babies off and that is what I love so much about this fashion trend. I have worn them with a T-shirt, a dress, a button up, or a blouse. They are perfect for everyday or to dress up for a holiday party.The best places to get these are jane.com and groopdealz.com you will get such amazing deals on great quality pieces.

Scarf

Scarves. This is a no brainier. We love scarves. Just like the head accessories these are not only cute but they keep us cozy in these upcoming frigid months. There are so many styles, patterns, materials and way to wear them and you can find them everywhere. I love how they can also be worn as if they are a necklace, making the same fashion statement. Stay tuned and get excited for next months fashion post all about scarves.

I hope i was able to help you out with bring fall into your style in small, easy ways.
 Happy Fall.

What I Wore {Birthday Celebration}

A couple weeks ago was my 27th birthday and since it was on a Sunday this year we celebrated all weekend. Hubby took me to Lagoon that Saturday to a much needed me and him time. I love my boys more than anyone can ever imagine and I missed them all day but it was so wonderful to spend time with my hunk of a hubby. It was the best date ever I felt like we were dating teenagers all over again. You can read more about our celebration HERE. October is the perfect time to go to lagoon it is crisp and feels great in your fall fashion favorites, I highly recommend it not to mention you will have fun with all the fright mares goodness going on. I put a fun outfit together for our fall/birthday lagoon date that I couldn't wait to share.

First to start off the birthday celebrations Ty and the boys took me out to breakfast at kneaders and it was amazing. I posted this picture on Instagram and facebook that day and had a lot of friends ask where I got these oh so comfy clothes so I thought I would enlighten you all.

Hoodie // H&M Men's Department {no shame}
Leggings // Target
 Boots // Old Navy
 Beanie // Groopdealz

Next onto the fun birthday day to night date outfit.

 Shirt // Target
Leather Leggings // Forever 21
Boot Socks // Target
Boots // Steve Madden {Macys}
Beanie // Groopdealz

You guys, you NEED some leather leggings. They are my favoritest in the whole world and I almost want to go back and buy a back up pair I love them that much. Leather is so big right now in fashion trends. {to read more fall fashion trends go HERE} and it has come back with a bang. Go get some these were only $10 at forever 21.

This chambray shirt I feel like is for everyone. It is long a little looser fit and so stinkin comfortable you will die. The best part I got it at Target for under $20. I am telling you shop at Target, H&M and forever 21 and you will love the prices. This mama on a budget loves it!

Let's talk about this clutch for a minute ok! You need this. I actually won it in an instagram contest and I am so in love. I love it for date nights, girls nights, or when I am running errands without the kids and don't need a diaper bag. It is the perfect size and fits all of what you need. I am able to fit my cards, lipstick, phone, keys, cash, gum and even some lotion. It is from Poppy and Dot. They are the cutest shop, check out their website and don't forget to follow them on instagram @poppyanddot to catch their products, deals and contests.

 Happy Wednesday!

What I Wore {Saturday errands in the Fall}

First off, Happy Wednesday we are half way to the weekend wahoo! Second, It is my birthday week and that my friends right there is reason enough to celebrate. I am like a kid when it comes to birthdays, I love them and around here we celebrate birthday weeks. Okay lets be honest I celebrate the whole month of October. This coming Sunday is my actual birthday so of course I have to celebrate it all week if its on a Sunday. And now third, I am so sorry about the not so clear pictures today. Since the hubby has been working a lot it is hard to find time for him to also be my photographer. But they get the point across right?!

Saturdays are errand days, as moms we run errands all week long but Saturdays I always seem to have more. So I guess this post should just be the everyday errand fall look. Not to mention hubby works most Saturdays so it is just a regular old day around this house. The hard part is when I go out on Saturdays and see all the families together with their husband/ Dad it kinda sucks. Wowa sorry about that crazy tangent. Back to running errands,I wanted to share with you one of my favorite looks for those busy days. This is the perfect fall, comfotable and practical yet still styling look when you are on the go.

Shirt // BellaBird Cothing at Walmart
Polka Dot Jeans // Macys
Boots // Steve Madden {Macys}
Scarf // gift

Ikea was one of the many stops this Saturday full of goodies and Sweedish Meatballs for a lunch date! It was perfect. especially because the boys were soooo good.

Another favorite stop was Material Girls Quit shop for these beautiful knits and Hobby lobby for even more. Can you say HEADWRAPS. Yes I will be selling them. More info to come, but
until then you can contact me now for an order.

Lets be real here for a second, hear me out. I love fashion and have always just kinda done my own thing, just whatever I am feeling that day. I don't have one style I have MY style which can be different from day to day. That being said, I don't have a ton of money to just spend all on clothing either, and really it is not the most important thing. I mean we all need clothes but do we really need that $50 designer shirt, call me cheap or call me smart but I am all about the deals when it comes to fashion. Why not shop the deals? Why not shop the stores with the great prices? For instance these Steve Madden boots I am sportin here, I got them on sale and then used a gift card to buy them. I have been wanting some like this for so long and I am glad I waited until it was more practical for our budget. I mean I'm not saying it is wrong to splurge every once in a while we all do it, but for the most part, here you will find affordable clothing that you don't just lust over but that you can actually go out and buy without feeling guilty after.  You can have style and you can be fashionable without spending a ton of money. I have some really fun fashion posts coming up that you will not believe the prices {leather and printed pants just to name a few}.

These boots are the most comfortable boots I have ever worn. I pretty much wear them everyday. Perfect for errands and a casual look and perfect to dress up for date night. Get some! They are on sale right now.

I love wearing scarves to add to those plain tees, it just makes the look more finished not to mention more cozy.

And lastly, sometimes you've just gotta bust out an impromptu HANDSTAND just to feel like your young gymnast self AGAIN. Now for the funny story I think my neighbors think I am totally cray cray. While I was trying to do this failure of a WIW photoshoot with no husband photographer and a self timer, I was like hey I wanna do a handstand {I'm weird}. So I am running to press the camera shoot button then running back to do my handstand in the allotted time before the timer goes off and this beaut is what I got. Not too shabby for an old lady {I turn 27 on Sunday eeek that sounds weird} and it being 9 years since I have competed. Thank you CROSSFIT for making me feel like a gymnast again.
Happy Wednesday
Happy Fall
Happy October
Smile today it is contagious
