I am all about doing simple clean lines and colors reflecting the cool colors and the snow of the winter season. I like to use colors that reflect the light such as white, grey, silver (even some gold), blues, and yellows.
Love this printable! I got it HERE and the white frame just goes with it so perfectly.
Most obvious item to decorate with in the winter time is Snowmen. Which I love and totally do and you can find my post of the fence post snowmen HERE and my friend and Undone sistas' versions HERE, but you can also decorate with less traditional things that still go with the winter decor such as owls. I got this beauty at Michaels on sale and then I used a 40% off coupon and he ended up only being $7. I love him. I kinda have a thing for owls, and need more of them.
Simple but two of my favorite pair of items. I love the printable I found HERE in the black frame which then goes perfectly with these adorable black penguins I got from Tia Pan. Penguin family snuggles.
Bringing the outdoors in is always a fun way to decorate and celebrate the winter season. I put branches in a vase with some little decor snowballs and a blue ribbon. Easy, simple but I love the look. The cute snowflakes on the able are from the dollar store.
Another way to bring the outdoors in is pine cones. I love the look they bring to this area with the perfect bit of little sparkle from the snowmen.
I heart scrabble letters in decor and use them all the time.
Another great tip for winter decor is to use what you have in a different way. The white vase and the white frame are from my bedroom decor but I thought they would go perfectly on my TV stand for the month so I did a little rearranging.
You can find this printable HERE. Love it and just printed it off in a wallet size to fit my girlie white frame.
This saying board I made actually stays up all year round on our gallery wall, but the colors are a perfect example of what I like to use this month in my home. Perfect colors for January, and the perfect saying to start off a new year, don't you think? You can find my Sign Tutorial HERE.
Home decor starts at the front door. This is where your guests sees first when they come to your home. This is what people see when they drive by (not in my case since we have a back entrance for our basement apartment, but most people have a front door). So I feel like the front door is pretty important to spruce up, show your style, and show off the season. You can find my Wreath tutorial HERE.
And of course I love to get the kids excited for the season and get them involved in the decor of the home. I got this magnet snowman at the dollar store! It goes on our fridge and Maddux loves it!!! It is important for my kids to feel like this is their home too.
I have got to say this is my favorite thing during these freezing winter months. What would I do without our fireplace. I hope I never have to go without one again.

Your winter decorations are lovely. I just wish I could get more in the mood to decorate with snowman and other wintery things when it's in the 80s outside... silly Florida weather.
