{Supplies I Used}

-3Wood flag style banner pieces{Wood connection}
-2 Wood Triangle style banner pieces {Wood connection}
-Patterned card stock (5 different sheets)
-Wood letters B L I S S {Wood connection}
-White paint
-Sand block or paper or nail file
-paint brushes (I like to use the foam ones and wash them and reuse them)
-Yellow bakers Twine (they even have this at wood connection)
-Easy Tack Glue
-Mod Podge
-Hot Glue gun and glue sticks
-Pin
-Credit card or scrapper

{What I did}

First, I painted the edges of the wood flags white. I also painted a little onto the front just so there was no bare wood showing.

Next, it was time to put the paper onto the flag pieces. I wanted to show a little different technique then I did HERE.
1.  First I put the patterned paper facing down and the flag on top
2. Traced the flag onto the paper with a pencil
3. Cut it out
Now you have the paper the right size and ready to be glued.

Next, came my handy dandy spray adhesive. You can find this at any craft store I got mine at Michaels and used my 40% coupon. Don't forget your coupons they will save you so much money on your creating and crafting I promise it is worth it and so are the little extra trips to be able to use multiple.

I sprayed the adhesive onto both the wooden flag and the paper and let them sit for about 20 seconds to get tacky. Then I placed the paper on top of the wooden flag. I took a credit card and scrapped it across the paper on the flag to make it perfectly smooth, help it adhere and get out any bubbles.

Once they are all glued on and dried for about an hour, I took my file {you can also use sand paper but I like the file for small wood projects} and sanded all the edges making sure they are all smooth and all excess paper is off.

Next I put a coat of mod podge on the top of each flag to seal them and keep the paper protected. I like to do this on paper/wood projects because they last longer and the paper doesn't tear.

You need to be able to connect the flags together to make it into a banner. The wood flags come with a pre drilled hole already in them but it got covered when we mod podged the paper on the top so to  get those holes through the paper I simply just took a pin and poked it through the pre drilled hole and moved it around a bit until the hole in the paper was the same size and the hole in the wood. I know super high tech right?! haha but it worked.

Next up is the letters for these bad boys. I loved the word bliss. It was perfect, fresh and simply beautiful for my summer decor. I painted each letter white. I liked the simple white next to the patterned, colorful paper.

Then I sanded the edges and the top a little bit. I like the shabby chic rustic look it brings to the modern bold paper on the flags.

To attach the letters I simply used my hot glue gun and placed them right where I wanted.

Once all the letters are on and they are secure, it was time to string the flags together using some baker's twine. I adore this stuff. You can do so much with it and it is sooooo cute.  I strung it through each flag until they were all connected.

You could also tie a knot in the twine after each flag so they stay in place.

And there you have it, it is all ready to be hung up! Isn't it so cute? The colors, the patterns and the simply beautiful word and meaning of bliss is perfect for your home this summer!

BLISS: Supreme happiness, utter joy or contentment. I love this word, I love what it reminds me of. It reminds me of my blessings, it reminds me to be happy and everything I have in my life to be happy for. It reminds me what is truly important. In our house we feel the bliss! What is your favorite word? Why would you display it in your home?

  2. I adore your banner!! Aren't those banner pieces fun? I love them, but I can't believe how heavy they are when put together and hung up. The colors of your banner are perfect, and I love the mixing of the banner shapes.
