My Thrifty 4th of July Decor 2012

We are painting our whole basement apartment
and although it has been hard work
(It is huge) we are on the home stretch
We have been painting at nap time and bed time
so my sweet little mister doesn't get into the paint
we started last Monday and are really close to being done
Just have our room and the big living room to do
It is so fun to see the transformation
and I feel like the Grey we chose makes it feel so modern,
  stylish and warm
But because we are painting I don't have anything up on the walls right now
This is exciting to me because I can start fresh and new
But I still wanted to be able to decorate for the 4th
so I did so on our little sofa table and our TV stand
I also had like no 4th decorations so I used a bunch of stuff
I already had and made some fun decor
that I want to share with you

-U always up for our last name Ulrich
-Ulrich Plaque from our wedding
-Red frame is an old DI frame I had in our closet
it was brown and I spray painted it red
Then I filled it with an 11X14 print that I got HERE
and I printed it at Costco for a couple bucks
-White frame is a frame I already had I think I got it
from hobby lobby on sale and I filled it with some
red, white and blue scrapbook paper
-Little white birdies I already had but I got them at
Michaels about a year ago for $1 a piece
-Flags I got all three for $1 at target
-White vase, I have for when I redo our bedroom
I got it at home goods for $7.99
-Keep Calm and Carry on Plaque I made tutorial HERE
-Framed flag I made  Tutorial HERE

Simple and easy but the perfect amount of some red, white and blue
to show my love for our awesome country

I had almost all of this on hand and spray painted it
I only spent about $4 on things I didn't have
Pretty thrifty for how cute it looks right?
Sometimes you just have to find other decor you have around the house
and bring it together in a different way
and it all looks brand new :)

-Red Chalk board I had on hand from last years summer fun list
I got it at hobby lobby and painted it red
-Keep Calm and Carry on Plaque I made tutorial HERE
-White frame I already had originally from hobby lobby
I filled it with red, white and blue star scrapbook paper
and painted a wood four red to put inside
-little pinwheels I got all six in a pack for $2 at Michaels
-Flag Blocks made by me tutorial HERE

Again I had most of this on hand
I spent about $4 on this as well

And of course no holiday decor is complete until
you have a wreath on your door
I also made this tutorial found HERE

It is the perfect pop of color to have around the house
that would otherwise feel so empty right now with all the
painting going on
I spent a total of about $20
with most of that being from the Wreath
Not bad eh?
And now I will have all of these for the rest of the summer
and for next year

I wanted to thank some amazing blogs for featuring me this past week

  2. It all looks great! I really love the framed #4 - so simple but looks so nice. I finally got my few July 4th decorations out yesterday. The end of June really snuck up on me!
